Only in a city boy's realm of thinking...

I love Vermont. I do not love its lack of technological support. In these beautiful Green Mountains, there is still one big problem. The sound of dial up still rings oh too strongly. I know it may be hard, but try to remember that great sound of dial up… I know you all miss it, and just in case you don’t remember here it is…

Coming from the technological State of Connecticut, this horrible sound becomes just as bad as nails on a chalkboard. Luckily, this is about to change! The great new governor, Peter Shumlin has made it his goal to have broadband throughout Vermont by 2013. Thank God. I really do not understand how a state can foster business and tourists without reliable broadband throughout. It is also the goal of the governor to increase cell phone coverage. I know you all love the covered bridges and beautiful mountains of this great state, but wouldn’t it be even better if you could text your friends while enjoying the scenery? They make cell towers that look like trees, so all of the nature loving hippies do not have to worry about the landscape being disturbed.

I say put those trees up all over the place, no one will ever notice. I really would love having cell service everywhere I go, and I am sure it will help out the industry and tourism in the state. I know things are slower up this way, but let’s make sure that the internet doesn’t stay as slow as the Vermonters on the interstate.
