eh yo I flow in my Polo

If Middlebury College had a business program, I would have applied, and if accepted I would have gone. One may ask why? Well, after you watch this, you will be saying why not?

Now don't you want to go to Middlebury? A simple video created by some students was uploaded on youtube and went viral. The video now has almost one million views and the song can even be purchased on itunes. I saw this video before being accepted to any colleges and it immediatly got me to look into Middlebury. The school is amazing, but unfortunatly does not hae a business program. What is interesting to me is how a simple song made by some students does so much to show the true Middlebury. Anyone that I show the video to seems to like it and the tune is very catchy. Media is powerful. I think that more people should get on the trend of viral videos, due to the powerful effect that they have. This is a simple and inexpensive way for promotion of the college, at least just to get the name out. The song explains the life of a Midd Kid, which describes many aspects of a lot of Vermonters. The song is funny to many who know the area due to how true the versus in the song are. Many of the versus describe me very well. I wear my Polo with pride, have some Dave Matthews T's, and love my McDonalds double cheeseburgers. Stereotypical Nutmegger, I know.

not TIME for change?

TIME has been around since 1923 and its iconic covers have had little change since its original issue. The classic red outlines and black font have become the icons of the magazine. The red outline works well to frame the many iconic photos that have graced the front of the magazine. The covers of the magazine really invoke the limbic brain with its pictures that really provide insight on what is within the magazine. The riveting images that have been on covers of the magazine really work to get the attention of those who are looking at magazines. The magazine is really full of value messages, desgined to inform the reader of issues throughout the world, as well as good things that are going on throughout the world. TIME really hits on all subject areas and uses testimonials to prove its point. There are sections within the magazine (briefing, commentary, features, and culture) that work to build a well rounded magazine. What is great about time is that it is published every week, so the news is always current and changing. The magazine is currently owned by Time Warner, and works in association with CNN. What is really great though is how time is available on electronic reading devices, adding to the aesthetic shift that is happening in our 21st century media culture.
TIME also has its own YouTube channel, so they are really going into the digital age quite well. They also have a weekly show on YouTube that asks 10 questions of influential people, an example is seen below. TIME is a great way of keeping involved with what is going in the world week by week and provides interesting topics for readers to divulge in.
